Calling Grade 7-12 young scientists!

Are you a Grade 7-12 student interested in having a mentor to connect and exchange knowledge with or to learn more about how science really works and what scientists actually do?

Then you may want to sign-up to participate in Youth Science Canada’s Young Scientists Mentorship program.  

Interested students will need to create a brief (1-2 page) resumé summarizing key information. A resumé should include:

• your full name, contact information, level of study and school;
• science project experience;
• academic and non-academic awards/accomplishments;
• a description of the scientific areas that interest you; and,
• most importantly, a sentence or two about why you are looking for a mentor. It will allow a potential mentor to know what your mentorship expectations are.

Once you have completed your resumé please email it as follows:

• If your area of interest is in the health sciences, please send your request to Janet Weichel McKenzie, who coordinates the Synapse youth mentorship program, operated by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

• If your interest is in any other area of science, please send your request to Youth Science Canada.

We will do our best to connect you with an appropriate mentor, but please be aware that it can take some time and that we may not always be successful.
