YSF is delighted to announce ten recipients of the YSF Canada Distinguished Service Award for 2007. This year's recipients have founded regional organizations, served at the school, regional, provincial and national levels, and demonstrated remarkable commitment to the development of Canada's young scientists.

This is the first time that the maximum of 10 awards has been presented, reflecting the outstanding nature of the contributions made by this group to the national science fair program.

The 2007 recipients are:

  • Carol Campbell, Pembroke ON
  • Carole Charlebois, La Prairie QC
  • Danny Glin, Calgary AB
  • Kay Jauch, Edmonton AB
  • James Langen, Regina SK
  • Ann McIlmoyle, Lakefield ON
  • Linda O'Leary, Lindsay ON

Each recipient receives an etched crystal award, usually presented at their regional science fair or the Canada-Wide Science Fair, and a letter from Board Chair, Lorne Heslop. Congratulations to all the recipients and on behalf of the many young Canadians who have experienced the science fair program as a result of their work, thank you for your time and dedication.

Individuals may be nominated by any two people from the 100 affiliated regional organizations across Canada. Recipients are selected by YSF Canada's National Science Fair Committee based on the published criteria.
