Megan Schlorff represents Canada at EUCYS 2009

Megan Schlorff, a grade 11 student from Sacred Heart High School in Hanover, Ontario is representing Canada at the 2009 European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS), opening today in Paris, France. Schlorff joins young scientists from approximately 40 European Union (EU) member states, EU-associated states and guest countries at the event, which serves as the European Union's science fair championships.

Schlorff's project, "Down the Drain, Only to Resurface Again", won two gold medals at the 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair in Winnipeg in May - one in Earth and Environmental Sciences and the other in Environmental Innovation.

Schlorff was selected to participate in EUCYS 2009 by Youth Science Ontario in collaboration with Youth Science Canada. Her participation is supported by the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation.
